An "E" Book Experience

author Sukhjit Ghag posted 10/31/2009
It is in the spirit of families reading together that we created the latest Sony DigiDads project. Of course, we're going the updated route with eBooks and we loaned the dads Sony Reader Pocket Editions. We chose the Pocket Edition for this project because it is simple to use and small enough to fit in children's hands. Beyond being the digital and "cool" way to read with kids, ebooks liberate. As noted by Sony DigiDad, Max Kalehoff, "Like printed pages to a book spine, books are bound to my home office desk and my night table." A device like the Pocket Edition which weighs less than 8 ounces allows you to travel with hundreds of books in your pocket or purse.

500 Faces of Fall and 4/5th of the Way Through a Great Experiment

Instead of giving you a simple round up of The 100 Faces project I thought I'd use this post to give you some behind-the-scenes insight into how the DigiDads program is working out. This is the stuff that the dads aren't posting on their blogs but is essential to making this program work.

DigiDads Take a Stroll Down Memory Lane and Connect Generations

author Sukhjit Ghag posted 9/25/2009

When we asked our group of Sony DigiDads to do a project using the latest Sony Hanydcam camcorder, I don’t think any of us knew what we were in for. The project required each Dad to create a video time capsule using the Sony HDR-XR500V to capture family moments and record their heritage. There wasn’t much more direction than that and the Dads were given a week to do their thing. You’d think they’d give us some simple home videos, right? Well, what we got were five amazing and unique glimpses into families, philosophies about storytelling and helpful insight into how to use the gear.

The Connected Living Room—Or Man Cave

author Marcy Cohen posted 8/31/2009
Our first official assignment for our DigiDads is called The Connected Living Room. And while not all of the dads actually set up the home theater products in their living room (Michael Sheehan, due to space limitations, used his daughter's bedroom, Max Kalehoff held movie night in his "man cave" and CC used his office), they all seemed to have fun with this.

Here Come the Dads

author Marcy Cohen posted 8/19/2009

There's been a flurry of articles and exposure for mommy bloggers these days, so we decided it was time to get the dads involved. Don't worry moms--we love working with you and will keep you involved, but let's make some room for some big-time daddy bloggers.

Sony has teamed up with several high profile dads who are avid bloggers and we're launching a three-month DigiDad project.

Each participant  will receive various Sony products on loan and will be given different assignments that capture their family experiences using the  products. We don't want to give away all the details yet, but we can tell you that they'll be asked to use everything form our latest televisions to our VAIO PCs.

We've got some fun activities lined up for them and they'll blog and vlog about their experiences using the products as well as their likes and dislikes. Reviews will be published on the dad's own blogs as well as right here. We've dedicated a special DigiDad page for this project where you can stay apprised of each assignment.

The project is being spearheaded by uber dad blogger and social networking guru Chris Brogan of New Marketing Labs, Dad-O-Matic.com and Chrisbrogan.com.

In preparation for the DigiDad project, we asked each dad to put together a short video telling us why they think they've been chosen for this project. So watch the videos at the links below and check back with us regularly to find out what they're up to by clicking on the DigiDad icon or by going to the site directly.
